Château Belgrave Red Bordeaux Blend Haut-Médoc 2011

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

A bit muted on the nose, subtle floral and meaty tones – moderately rich, a touch drying, big structure, lots of ripe tannin, extracted but not overdone, powerful mid-palate, savory finish, good length, dark, meaty fruit (89-90)

In 1979 the Dourthe negociant house leased the estate and invested heavily bringing in Michel Rolland as consultant. There are now a total of 55 hectares under vine.In 1987 a second wine called 'Diane de Belgrave' was introduced that name being a reference to the fact that the chateau was a hunting lodge during the reign of Louis XV and Diane is the goddess of hunting Read less

First aroma of red fruit and tobacco. Then a hint of greenness. In the mouth, perfume, not rounded. acidity snapping. Nice tannins. Immediately on the fruit.

Drank in August 2009. Tannins were almost all intergrated in the rich and full taste. Lots of black fruit. I loved it.

Mit schwarzen Kirschen, Cassis und Röstaromen im Bouquet. Aromatisch im Gaumen, voll und ausgewogen, mit weichen Gerbstoffen. Langer angenehmer Abgang.

Am Gaumen eine runde, leichte Süsse. Saftig im Geschmack und sehr reife Tannine. Guter Abgang.
