Château Raymond-Lafon Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend Sauternes 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

The palate is well balanced with a citric entry, touches of apricot and lime,
tightly coiled towards the finish with the acidity slicing through the viscous
honey fruit with a touch of Tropicana. Again, this is a very focused, tensile
Sauternes with beguiling clarity.
(Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Apr 2010)

Very deep golden, with great tension and excitement and some green streaks,
with layers of botrytis over them. Full and deep with intense botrytis. Great
stuff! Unspittable, dried apricots (though so much richer than a Tokaji) and
great acidity.
(Jancis Robinson MW, jancisrobinson.com, Mar 2010)

The 2009 Raymond-Lafon is a delightfully young and fresh tasting Sauternes. Golden yellow is colour, youthful fragrance of stewing apricot jam and freshened up with a hint of lime. A lush sticky wine, very tight with vibrant acidity. Rich flavours of tropicana fruit punch. Drink now – 2030.

Quite ripe, offering a large core of orange peel, date and almond notes, with a toasted hazelnut-filled finish. Theres plenty of dried mango and apricot in reserve, with a toasty piecrust note. Powerfully rendered. Needs some time. -J.M. Wine Spectator. A Sauternes Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2011 Raymond-Lafon 3000ml

Bright golden yellow. Captivating aromas of fresh white flowers, acacia honey, guava and marmaladey botrytis. Smooth and seamless in the mouth, displaying knockout flavors of pineapple, pomelo (rather than grapefruit, which has an element of bitter... Stephen Tanzers IWC. The Chateau Raymond-Lafon has a reticent nose at first that finds its voice after a few swirls of the glass, offering dried mango, almond and a touch of quince, all with fine delineation and intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with good acidity an... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. A Sauternes Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2010 Raymond-Lafon 750ml

There is a little SO2 on the nose at the moment.

The nose reminds me of an Alsatian SdGN in some ways with touches of honey, greengage, pear and lime. The palate is well balanced with good acidity, just a hint of bitter lemon adding some vibrancy and vigour. Moderate level of botrytis, very well-fo... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.
