Louis Jadot Chambertin Clos de Beze Pre Arrival 2012

Winemaker's Notes:

Saint Véran is vinified in stainless steel tanks and bottled in spring in order to keep all its freshness and fruitiness. The resulting wine is very dry, delicate and youthful, pale straw-gold in color and with a subtle nutty flavor which lends the wine a soft roudness. It is refreshing as an aperitive. It will also be a good partner for hors d'oeuvre, delicately flavoured charcuteries, oysters, fish, snails and andouillettes.

Maison Louis Jadot is a winery that’s proud of its heritage and land. Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Jadot expanded rapidly, taking northern Europe by storm. When his son, Louis Jean Baptiste, took over in 1900, more change took place, and many vineyards were acquired, including Corton Charlemagne and Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles. With the help of Rudy Kopf, founder of the Kobrand Corporation, Maison Jadot expanded even further, setting up shop in both England and the U.S. In 1985, Madame Jadot sold the company to Rudy Kopf’s family, ensuring a successful future for the company. The land is very important to Maison Louis Jadot, and making the terroir shine through is always a priority. Maison Jadot identifies with its Burgundy heritage, and all wines are Appellation Contrôlée. The winery controls about 380 acres of land in Burgundy, including Côte d'Or, Mâconnais and Beaujolais. Jacques Lardière, winemaster, works with Christine, Guillaume, and Audrey to ensure that the single-variety wines produced, including Pinot Noir for reds, Chardonnay for whites, and Gamay for Beaujolais, always produce the best, most consistent wines. It is a young and fruity wine, with aromas of red fruits, and cherries. With a delicate structure and soft tannins, it will perfectly match with light dishes (hot entrées, white and red meat in light sauce), wine sauce dishes and white cheeses (not too strong).

This wine is still a bit young, however, it displays bright fruit and green foliage on the nose. A LOT of acidity, this wine will pair well, with and cut through fatty meat. Bright cherry and raspberry fill your mouth with more subtle notes of vanilla and clove. More tannins on the back than most Burgundy reds.

A finely perfumed wine touched with wood Beaujolais in a Burgundy style structured and with intense acidity. It is packed with firm tannins surrounded by a lively cherry and rich fruit character. - R.V. Wine Enthusiast.

This is consistently one of Jadots finest wines and 2010 is no different, in fact it would appear to have even greater ultimate potential than the Musigny, which isnt always the case. The spicy, ripe and exceptionally complex nose of airy, pure and... Burghound. A Pinot Noir wine from Burgundy in France. 2010 Jadot, Louis Chambertin Clos de Beze Grand Cru 750ml

The high quartzite content that geologically links Chateau des Jacques s 2010 Moulin-a-Vent Clos du Grand Carquelin with their Chenas En Papolet seems evident also in a prominent mouthwatering salinity and a sense of lift and sappy brightness of red currant and red raspberry. Those looking for geological signs might associate the iron- and manganese-rich characteristic for Moulin-a-Vent in general with the deep beef marrow meat-stock richness that underlies this Carquelin and supplies a dynami

Bright ruby. Dark berries cherry-cola and vanilla on the highly perfumed oak-spiced nose. Initially lush and open-knit offering sweet blackberry and cherry-vanilla flavors that become smokier and spicier with air. Finishes with excellent focus and gentle tannic grip leaving sweet cherry and candied licorice notes behind. This wine was aged in 100% new barriques and based on my experience with past vintages should easily absorb it over the next decade. Stephen Tanzers IWC.

Medium red. Powerfully mineral aromas of dark berries orange zest floral oils and crushed stone. The palate offers great class and lift showing superb definition to the flavors of red berries minerals and botanical herbs. This razor-sharp Chambolle finishes with terrific rising perfume. With extended time in the recorked bottle the wine showed distinctly darker berry character with captivating violet and mint high notes. A beauty. 93+ Stephen Tanzers IWC.
