The Miguel Torres Celeste Crianza Ribera del Duero 2005 brings strong fragrances of ripe blackberries, currant and spices on the nose, I can also smells hints of anise but they are not very pronounced. Tastes deliciously fruity, finishing dry, and with strong tannins.

Very refined medium body red. It had a pleasant oaky nose and very smooth finish of medium length. I was pleasantly supprised by this bottle and bought more shortly after trying it.

Rich, dark blackberry and cassis nose. Smooth, but evident tannins. Good concentration and length. Drink from 2009. (15.57 points)

Did not cellar well. Musty and uninviting.

Deep deep red color, almost black/purple. I smell stewed peaches and musky chemical smell (though not in a bad way, per se). HIgh alcohol and medium tannins.

I was shown the 2005 Celeste (the first vintage for this wine) which is exhibiting lightly roasted black fruits, Asian spices, floral notes, and blackberry. The 2005 vintage is yielding long-lived wines and the Celeste appears to be still evolving. 9... Robert Parkers Wine Advocate. A Tempranillo wine from Ribera Del Duero in Spain. 2005 Torres Celeste Crianza 750ml

External Review

An expressive nose of spice, pepper and charred wood. The rich body has plenty of acidity to match with all the classic dishes, it can handle the spice. The long finish has some drying tannins, all the better for the table. David Derby. A Tempranillo wine from Ribera Del Duero in Spain. 2005 Torres Celeste Crianza 750ml

Tasting Notes:

Intense blackberry colour. Spicy and intense nose, with liquorice and black pepper hints on a base of well ripened fruits (blackberry and cherry). On the palate, very fruity at first with ripened tannins, also persistent and full bodied.

The name comes from Spanish word for "heavenly," alluding to the area of Spain that is particularly high above sea level.
