Wagner-Stempel Rose Rheinhessen 2016

Winemaker's Notes:

WHWC Staff Notes: A blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Sankt Laurent, this is one of the more consistent rosés in our inventory, year to year. The 2016 vintage does not display the same depth of fruit or extract of 2015, owing to the cooler conditions that prevailed, but the resulting elegance is utterly charming. The initally quiet bouquet eventually opens to aromas strawberry, kiwi, and bubble gum, all underscored by a subtle minerality and high-toned rosewater and geranium elements. The medium-bodied palate is as refreshing as can be, with flavors of tart cranberry, red apple, and a smoky white pepper note all impeccably balanced on crisp, gentle acid. This wine disappears quickly, from your glass and from our shelves. A proven winner strikes again in 2016! - Andrew Kitz

Wagner-Stempel:
Quality grows in the vineyard - that's why Daniel cares about cautious vineyard cultivation with extensive handwork to ensure healthy soils with balanced planting vegetation. The selective handpick is as obvious as the careful grape processing involving a delicate after care in the cellar and a sensible and slow development in stainless steel or wood - depending on the requirements of the must.
