Been loving the wines of South Africa lately - they're surprisingly good for such a "new" region. The winemakers do a good job of blending the traditional European styles with the juiciness of New World wines. Here are a few good ones I've recently tried.

One of the more interesting Merlots I've come across. A ton of weird, wacky stuff here. The 15% Cab Franc really comes across on the nose, with lots of veggies in the bouquet. There's an intriguing minty aspect across the mid-palate, and an intense, lingering smokiness on the finish.
