1 Bodega Castro Martin Family Estate Selection Albarino 'Sobre Lias' (2011)
Review from original list creator: "This has a lovely nose, all swathed in a gentle florality with soft apricot, plum, and tangerine aromas that show a little candied almond note. This is focused and fairly precise in the mouth with big acids lending a classic seashell note on the palate, and even a whisper of tannins supporting slightly herb toned green plum, lime and melon fruit. This finishes with impressive clarity and good length showing very pure lemon flavors and firm minerality. 89pts" by 89065Gregory Dal Piaz

2 Licia Albariño Rías Baixas Licia (2011)
Comments: Update - May 2015: I just had this wine again at Chop Shop in Chelsea (Manhattan, not London) with a vegetarian Thai curry. Great value and nice pairing!
Review from original list creator: "This shows an almost herbal note early on nose followed by peach and dried lemon pith aromas. Quite smooth and polished in the mouth, though with no shortage of brightening acidity, this shows rather intense lemon, quince and almost tropical fruit flavors. The finish reverts to lighter apple notes but superimposed on lovely suggestions of green tea and hints of minerality. 88pts" by 89065Gregory Dal Piaz

3 Torres Sangre de Toro Do Catalunya (2010)
Review from original list creator: "Rather aromatic in a narrow way with assertive notes of white flowers, stone and church incense/candlewax greeting the nose. Showing a touch of trapped co2, this has a light spritz to it, which adds to the light bodied and fresh appeal. With light green apple, plum, and lemon zest flavors this is fresh and attractive, gaining a little edge of sweeter fruit on the backend, and then sweet lemon juice and floral aromatics on the moderately long finish. A lovely wine for summer sipping, uncomplicated, zesty and refreshing. 87pts" by 89065Gregory Dal Piaz

4 Gran Familia Verdejo Privada White Imported-Spanish (2010)
Review from original list creator: "Melon, pigskin, and wet stone aromas greet the nose, along with a spark of flint. A lean, modest wine with nice tart melon flavors laid over a fairly mineral base. This is a bit austere in the mouth, with some quince notes building on the back end and through the fairly long, and fairly intensely flavored finish that shows some peach character. Unusual for a wine to finish with more intensity than it shows on the palate. This would be lovely with meaty white fish, simply grilled with olive oil. 87pts" by 89065Gregory Dal Piaz

5 El Coto de Rioja Blanco (2012)
Review from original list creator: "Super intense on the nose with masses of red apple, peach and blueberry aromas. Bright and juicy if barely medium bodied in the mouth, this delivers plenty of orchard fruits supported by bright, pithy citrus flavored acidity and accented with a touch of minerality and a suggestion of sage. There's a nice aromatic peachiness here that pops on the backend along with a little candied edge on the modest finish. 86pts" by 89065Gregory Dal Piaz
