Favorite Wine Books?

I am looking to read a new book about wine. I have been inspired by the monthly give-a-way to look into some new reading material.

For info about the Snooth Give-a-way: http://www.snooth.com/sweeps/snooth-zesterdaily-wine-library-giveaway/

I have only purchased a few books and have only finsihed like one. I am not a very fast reader and am looking for something informative but easy to read.

Books I have:

  1. Wine Bible - Great all-inclusive book but not necessarily and easy read. --
  2. Windows on the World - Must have. May go through this one again.
  3. The Spirituality of Wine - Interesting read about who religion and wine intertwine.

  • 648878Mimi Kim Has anyone read any of Oz Clarke's books? My boyfriend is a huge Top Gear fan and watched the series that he had with James May.

  • I love Windows on the World... very informative.  I also really like Mark Oldman's Brave New World of Wine.  The book gives a lot of great suggestions and really gets you thinking about trying new wines.

  • Wine for Dummies - http://www.amazon.com/Wine-Dummies-Ed-McCarthy/dp/0470045795/

Well-written, somewhat humorous introduction to the world of wine, it's become sort of a standard tutorial for layfolk.

but my fav is the Sotheby's Wine Encyclopedia.... but this is more of, well, encyclopedia... not sure if it's a page turner, cover to cover... i've read it through... and watched paint dry... you get the idea : )

i'm getting ready to start Judgement of Paris, California vs France and the 1976 Paris Tasting That Revolutionized the Wine World, by George M. Taber... i think it'll be a good read....
