Valle de Zonda Wine

The Zonda Valley in San Juan region is home to the Santa Sylvia Estate vineyards and olive groves. Located in Southern San Juan, at an elevation of 3,000 ft. above sea level, this high altitude, semi-desert climate has a long, dry, sunny growing season with hot days and cool nights, which allow the grapes to achieve full ripeness and develop complex fruit aromas, while still retaining good acidity. A constant dry wine know as the Zonda flows down the nearby Andes mountains and provides the vines with protection from disease. The winery uses no pesticides for other chemical products on the wine. Zonda's rather austere micro-climate and stony, well draining soil keep yields naturally low. Over 200 hectares of grapes are grown, selected portions of this single-vineyard are harvested to create the wines of XumeK, and newly released Zonda. – Description from Jtincknell
