The 2016 Croix-Mouton looks wonderfully Bordeaux in the glass - nearly opaque ... ... hitting above the usual Bordeaux Superieur, with a soft warm, finish that exudes coffee and cherry. Nicely done! 8 Read More

This is one of the best Chateau Bolaire with plenty of inky, medicinal Petit Verdot on the nose. The wine presents as black cherry, and enters with a certain chocolate elegance and finish - although somewhat lacking in density and depth. But this is not a fault. Delicious, reasonably priced Bordeaux Superior from Macau. 88. Read More

Dark cherry robe. Bouquet of kirsch and vanilla, w/o the sugar. Entry is smooth, textured and elegant; the only "deficiency" is a certain depth - although this is not a fault with a wine of this pedigree. Medium finish with lots of red berry. A wonderful A. C. Bordeaux worth buying in bulk. Purchased for $C 17 in Perth ON. 88. Read More

Pours a lovely deep shade of ruby-garnet red, with rustic hues developing around the top ring of the wine itself and shows concentrations of suspended particulate, being only semi-transparent....legs are decent, but don't fully form, leaving rather an modest oily looking layer around the inside of the glass. Somewhat spicy layers of cinnamon, f... Read More

The 2015 Reserve du Chateau Pey la Tour is another good value, good quality Bordeaux Superieur from Dourthe. Merlot dominates - as expected (88%) with the usual vibrant nose of cherries; colour is quite dark and brooding, with an entry that, with decanting, reveals plum and cherry and some residual tannin and oak. Rich and very Bordeaux. Leave o... Read More

I have not been able to find out much about them or this particular bottle of wine. However,I started it last night with my supper of lamb chops. There was some blackcurrant and black cherry sty... This is a fine Bordeaux Superieur for the price, with a typically plummy, cassis nose. The colour is deep cherry red, and the entry is very light, smooth - perhaps a little stemmy - but full of the usual plum and dried currant flavours associated with a Merlot-dominated Bordeaux of modest pretenses. The finish is medium with plenty of vanilla.... Read More

surprisingly good for a wine that gained only the appelation of Bordeaux Superieur and nothing more. combination of plums, chocolates and pepper spices made it feel very welcome. Read More

I drank a very sweet Bordeaux while visiting Paris last summer. I do not know the name of the wine only that it was a Bordeaux. It was a very nice golden color. I would like to see if I can find the wine here in the US but am having trouble because I do not know the name or region where the wine was grown. Can someone help me or make a reco...

Had several wines from this region while in France, and particularly enjoyed the Chateau Saint Antoine 2005 vintage. Fruitier than some from the region but mellow as well. Still experimenting with these wines . .
