Saint-Emilion Wine

St-Emilion is a commune in Bordeaux which is located along the right (northeast) bank of the Dordogne. The wines here are dominated by the Merlot grape, followed by Cabernet Franc. Soil types include gravel, clay, and limestone. Unlike the Medoc, St-Emilion did not receive its classification until 1955. The commune is the home of such renowned and wildly expensive wines as Cheval Blanc and Ch. Ausone.

  • Chateau Puy Blanquet 2015

    Snoothrank:

Tasted 27th December 2018. The wine has a weak nose of cherries and vanilla, while the entry is of middling strength regarding these two flavour components - with noticeable bitterness and oak. Not much fruit for the vintage and somewhat disappointing compared to the 2014. 86. Read More
