Toro Wine

Toro is a region located within Castilla-y-Leon, in the Zamora province, just above the Duero River, which becomes the Douro in Portugal. This is another region that began wine-making early on, in the first couple of centuries B.C. It’s known for big, rich, concentrated styles with robust tannins. The main grape is Tinto del Toro (a.k.a. Tempranillo), often blended with Garnacha. This region is famous for producing the cult wines Numanthia, Termanthia and Termes.
Some whites are also produced from Malvasia and Verdejo.
