  • I'll be in Germany next week, and once I arrive I plan to drag my jet-lagged self to Alsace, France to tour a few wineries there (a couple hours from Frankfurt). BUT- I'm not really into white wines as much as reds, though I don't mind Gewurtzraminer and Dry Riesling. But I am thinking of taking a day off toward the end of the week. I can get pre... Read More

  • Hi all,Just want to introduce myself. I have recently started taking an interest in wine and have come to the point where I want to start learning more about it. At this point I can identify which lines I like, and which I don’t, but I really hope to be able to take it a step further and understand what makes it so that I like certain wines and ... Read More

  • I quite enjoy the Snooth Virtual Tastings.  It's been a while since I joined in the live event, because (I can't believe a retired person has this problem.) of schedule conflicts.  Even when I don't participate in the live event, I make time to view the archived recording. So, I was pleased to see that I had no conflict for the next VT--La Crema ... • I've recently discovered my interest in wine since turning 21, and I've been learning some of the lingo through this great site.  I'm about to graduate from college in May, and I hope to leave my days of Franzia and refrigerated Yellow Tail out of a solo cup behind.I have a lot to learn, but I just wanted some input from you on how to become a w... • Seeing some of the wines rated by Snooth certainly excites the palate but mostly to no avail because these wines are not available locally.  Washington State (where I live) will have a proposition on the upcoming ballots that will put beer, wine and hard stuff where it belongs, on the free retail market.  Currently we have government stores for ... • I loved GDP's article on corkage fees, guidance, and what to expect.  I did, however, feel there were some regional/establishment level variabilities though. I will start by saying that here in the suburbs of SF bay area (CA, USA), corkage fees can be ridiculous for what you get (cheap glasses, lack of service) AND corresponding wine lists can b...
