  • Like the Title suggests, I'm getting my MBA from the University of California and my team and I have come up with a business model for the wine industry. One of our tasks in this project is to conduct some consumer research around the Brand name vs model. Would love any / all feedback! Read More

  • No - we loved Utah, and thought it was pretty funny and interesting! Different experiences like that add colour to a vacation. :)We did have a number of really great local beers made in Utah and AZ.  UT's Zion brewing company is one that stands out in my memory. Read More

  • Hi guys:I was at a local wine and liquor store today; I buy quite a bit of stuff from them but don't really know any of the staff. It was quite warm and I was out running errands. I decided to stop by and pick up a few bottles of inexpensive wine (sub $15) that I can use in part for cooking.I guess maybe my hand was a little sweaty or something ... Read More

  • AZ Snoother, We don't hate, at least I don't!  When it comes to wine, I'm a fan of good wine from anywhere.  France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the odd German and Aussie, heck, I had a Slovenian Furmint recently.  South African Chenin?  Got that.  It just has to be tasty and reasonably priced.EMark, although Smith Madrone is old and Terra Valentine... • There's tons of wine in AZ, and what we lack in quantity we make up for in extreme quality! Check out the Verde Valley area for tons of wineries and vineyards, namely Page Springs Cellars, AZ Stronghold, Pillsbury, Fire Mountain, Burning Tree cellars and a bevy of others. Down in the south east corner of the state are large planting areas and pl... Read More

  • The main draw in Arizona wine, at least from a pop culture stand point is Caduceus Cellars, in Jerome AZ. It was founded in 2004 by Maynard James Keenan of that band, Tool. They even made a documentary of the plantings and struggle to establish the vineyards, called "Blood Into Wine". Definitely worth a look. Read More

  • Have recently pursued wine for the resveratrol and other nutritional benefits.  I currently peruse the red wines in Giant Eagle... but have been to Vino 100 and coffee shops that do wine tastings.  Where do you buy your wine?  Any ideas for the best deals/place to shop in Columbus, Ohio? • J. Koegler Spatlese Eltville 2006

This little known winery in the Rheingau has produced a real winner. This rich Riesling spatlese has honey and mineral notes and is obviously botrytis affected. Nice complexity and perfect acid balance. It finishes a bit short once the bottle has been opened awhile, suggesting limited storage life. Drink by 2015. A delicious wine. Available in t...
