Bouquet Wines grew out of my passionate interest in wine, and I sold my first case in 1990. In 1997 I passed the rigorous Master of Wine examinations, winning the Madame Bollinger Prize for Excellence in Tasting and the Sainsbury Prize for my dissertation on Cool Climate Viticulture. Over time the list has grown to its present offering of nearly 100 keenly priced wines from around the world. Each year I taste thousands of wines in the process of making my selections. My new list features some stunning new discoveries from recent travels and tastings as well as exciting new vintages of many old favourites. If you’re looking for delicious, good-value wines, hand-picked by a Master of Wine, then look no further. Happy hunting! – Description from AlexJelena

  • Blackwood Lane Merlot 2014

    Snoothrank:

A very nice wine, but not in the vein of the usual Bordelais. Still, if you know the other wines in ... Read More

  • This isn’t one of those “next great grape!” articles. People are drinking more Grolleau, period. It may have something to do with growing interest in the Loire Valley - a region that sat in the shadows of its ‘big brothers’ Burgundy and Bordeaux for decades. The Loire Valley has been embraced by new wine drinkers (read: millennials). Its key grap... Read More

  • Tonight we attended the Symphony at The Kennedy Center.  The highlight was Hilary Hahn and her wonderful ability with the violin.  If you ever have a chance to hear her play, by all means get there.  Prior to the symphony, we dined once again at Fiola Mare on the waterfront in Georgetown (a short walk from The Kennedy Center along the Potomac Ri... Liszt, who was Hungarian, used to drink the Szeksárd version and there's a producer there now who is making a version in honor of Liszt. It's pretty good too. Egri just means from Eger.
