The Colorado Wine Room is a wine tasting room and small winery that seeks out Colorado's best wines and promotes them to wine enthusiasts across the country as well as travelers passing through Fruita on the western edge of Colorado. The Colorado Wine Room carries Colorado wines hand-picked with the help of Blind Panelist Tastings. The rotating wine selection of over 25 wines, chosen from among 60 Colorado wineries, serves as the basis of the Colorado Wine Room’s in-house tastings, sales, and monthly Colorado Wine Club. The facility also includes a gift shop of international Wine Country gifts, accessories and furniture, as well as an educational display explaining the history of wine-making in Colorado. The day after a large tree branch fell while I was walking the trail and nearly was driven into the ground.  Blood everywhere, back of the head cut, neck, back and left shoulder bruised all to h__l.A few stitches, a night ... • A few days ago I participated in a tasting/pairing event that featured white wines. One of the wines was Chablis, and, while discussing this one, the facilitator stated that it was fermented in steel and had never seen oak.  I asked if that was common for the region and he responded that it was absolutely the case, and was so for all white wines... A common response to many of the wines I shared and wrote about back then went something like this; “What, they make wine there?” In fact, wine is produced in all 50 states, but many people can count on one hand the wines they have t... • So, what’s it gonna be this year? Please, not another tie for Dad! I know that’s just an old clichéd line, but, well, you know how hard it can be getting something that makes Father’s Day special and doesn’t just get thrown in a drawer. Nothing is better than just setting aside some time to share with your father for his special day. After all, ... Read More

  • A lot of you do, of course, but even I was surprised when the personal assistant to the CEO of a $10 billion dollar (market cap) publicly traded company called and asked for wine advice. When I helped them track down a specific vintage of a certain wine and found it was only available in California they said they'd send the jet!I, of course, off... Read More
