  • So on a whim we decided to visit British Columbia. But we flew up to Washington, so visited a few places there too. Totally off the subject of wine, I found an awesome bakery in Spokane and the girl there served me this thing that I thought was a kind of Parmesan cheese foam. In fact it was fermented cashew whip, which was definitely weird, but ... Read More

  • Keating Montecillo Vineyard Zinfandel Moon Mountain District 2015

Red plum fruit. Mouth-filling. I want to think jammy, but there is not the sweetness that comes with jammy wines. Some herbalness mid-palatealmost minty. A fair amount of tannin, but not over the top. Good everyday drinker. Read More

  • Bedrock Wine Co. Gewurztraminer Alta Vista Vineyard Moon Mountain District 2016

Quite pale yellow color. Very reluctant nose. Tropical fruit on the tonguepineapple, kiwiand surprisingly little Gewurztraminer spice. The wine is completely dry, but the hyper fruitiness tempts you to think otherwise. Quite acidic. So, it is quite tart, but that makes it refreshing. Very light-bodied. A lengthy aftertaste exactly like on... Read More

  • Keating Cabernet Sauvignon Montecillo Vineyard Moon Mountain District 2014

Muted flavors of dark fruitnicely, unsweetened. A lot of unresolved tanninsunderstandable for such a young wine, but I know of numerous Napa mountain cabs whose tannins are much more in your face. Pleasant acid. Fairly short finishfor those who care about such things. A very pleasant wine, but my guess, for whatever that is worth, that more ... Read More
