It's also a real good opportunity to try some quality, low production, under the radar wines. It's how I got my first tastes of Cabot, Holderedge, Halcon, Siduri, Sandler, Loring, Lagier Meredith, Jemrose, Rascal, Keating,

So many others to take advantage of as this has grown in leaps and bounds since the beginning.

Since that day is my birthday, I will gladly accept bottles of wine purchased in my honor.

Haven't had Rascal or Keating but I've had all the others and 2 of them very recently and thanks to you - Jemrose on your rec and Halcon at your house. Both great so thanks. I have plenty of Jemrose now but no Halcon so I'm definitely in for that. I remember it as being one of my favorite Syrahs of that whole event.

L-M has been good since day one and I'm in for that too. I know her distributor in NYC and have met her and tasted her wines numerous times and always wonder why I haven't picked up more of it - she's truly one of the best Syrah producers.

Loring and Siduri tend to be uber-ripe PN, which they do well but it isn't my thing. However, for people who do like that, they're kind of the poster children for the CA version of PN.

Interested to see who else is participating. I picked up some Tercero last time - I was doing a tasting of Mourvedre from around the world so he threw in a few bottles. Larry is also one of those under the radar kinds of producers. .

Rascal is just affordable no nonsense stuff. $75/case party wine for the non-geek crowd.

Tercero is my focus this year. Good call.

2010 - ROCCHEVIBERTI BAROLO ROCCHE DI CASTIGLIONE
https://winelibrary.com/products/84470- ... astiglione
Price: $44.97 on sale ( was $59.99 )- Use code BeserkerDay1 to get this for $34.99 per bottle

94 Points Wine Enthusiast
"Juicy red and black cherry, crushed raspberry, violet, white pepper, cinnamon and sage sensations all come together. Assertive tannins and exhilarating acidity balance out the intense fruit and spice flavors. It’s still austere and tight but displays great breeding and serious aging potential. Drink after 2020."

2010 - BAUDANA BAROLO SERRALUNGA
https://winelibrary.com/products/84471- ... serralunga
Price: $47.97 on sale ( was $59.99 ) - Use code BeserkerDay2 to get this for $34.99

94 Points Antonio Galloni - Vinous
"Dark cherries, plums, smoke, tobacco, melted road tar, licorice, savory herbs and menthol all meld together in the 2010 Barolo Serralunga. Rich, deep and muscular, the 2010 is a great introduction to the wines of the village. There is no shortage of personality. This is an especially powerful, dense entry-level Barolo with tons of sheer appeal. However, the firm tannins will need time to soften, though, so readers need to be patient."

94 Points Wine Spectator
"The pure cherry flavor is shaded by leather and tar accents in this succulent, firmly structured Barolo. Dense and fresh, leaving a dusty impression on the finish. Best from 2018 through 2035. 536 cases made."

2010 - TALENTI BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO
https://winelibrary.com/products/84491- ... montalcino
Price: $49.99 on sale ( was $64.99 ) - Use code BeserkerDay3 to get this for $39.99

96 Points James Suckling
"A layered and rich red with a light prune, plum and berry character, as well as hints of walnuts. Full-bodied, chewy and tannic yet showing polish and refinement. An almost iodine undertone. Better in 2016."

2012 - BERTHEAU LES AMOUREUSES CHAMBOLLE MUSIGNY
https://winelibrary.com/products/81377- ... le-musigny
Price: $299.98 on sale ( was $379.99 ) - Use code BeserkerDay4 to get this for $249.99

93 Points Allen Meadows - Burghound
"This easily possesses the most complex nose in the range with its notably spicy aromas of plum, black cherry and lilac. There is a cool and restrained mouth feel that is very sophisticated as the supporting tannins are quite fine grained and the almost pungent minerality adds lift to the satin-textured finish that is markedly austere at present. Like the Charmes in 2012 this is more structured than it usually is."

2008 - SPRING MOUNTAIN CABERNET SAUVIGNON
https://winelibrary.com/products/82784- ... -sauvignon
Price: $59.97 on sale ( was $75.00 )- Use code BeserkerDay5 to get this for $49.99

"The Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is laden with loads of chocolate and rich, ripe fruit, specifically blackberry, cherry and plum. The palate is bright, full-bodied and balanced. Jammy fruit, toasty oak and hints of licorice and spice round out the wine. Decant to release the abundant flavors and aromas of this youthful and vibrant Cabernet.

Spring Mountain Vineyard is an 850 acre estate on the eastern slopes of Spring Mountain. Over 225 acres of the estate are planted to vine, representing 135 distinct hillside vineyard blocks with many soil types, exposures, and microclimates. Originally four individual 19th century Napa Valley vineyards, Miravalle, Alba, Chevalier and La Perla are now one vineyard producing exclusively estate grown wines. Growing primarily Bordeaux grape varieties, the vineyard yields distinctive mountain wines of concentration, elegance and longevity. " -Winery

Siduri $60 3pack

3 Great 2012 Single-Vineyard Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noirs for $60!

For the last 2 decades, we’ve produced Pinot Noir from the Chehalem Mountains region of the Willamette Valley. In those 20 years, we’ve never had a vintage where the overall fruit quality was as high as it was in 2012 (by the way, that doesn’t mean that the fruit was the ripest either. We’ve had a number of higher brix years in Oregon than 2012). Our only concern was making certain that our winemaking lived up to the quality of the fruit.

For this special Berserker offering we have selected 3 of our 2012 single-vineyard Chehalem Pinot Noirs to share with you. The wines are the Arbre Vert, Hawk’s View, and Muirfield Vineyard Pinot Noirs. These vineyards are all within walking distance of each other, and yet show distinctly different characteristics. We’ve pulled together all of the winemaking information on each of these wines in a packet and that way you can attempt to determine for yourself what went into making these wines taste the way they do. And, for those of you who care about such things, we’ve also pulled together the reviews on these wines and that way you can compare your notes to people such as Allen Meadows, Josh Raynolds, and Harvey Steiman.

Finally, as we’ve been making these wines for 20 years, we’ve decided to celebrate that anniversary by offering them to you at only $20 each (normally they are $42 per bottle). So, for $60 plus tax and shipping, you get 1 bottle of each wine so that you too can share in our excitement for the 2012 vintage in Oregon.

Due to this very special pricing and limited availability, this offer expires January 28th at 12PM PT.

Yeah the wine library thing looks good though I may not make it in time for any of the Amoureuses.

Tercero is not offering his best wines (Outlier, The Climb, Mourvedre), too bad.

I was wanting the Mourvedre too. Sadly I passed.

Took a flier on both the Andegavia 3L BIB Pinot and Sauv Blanc. $99 for a case delivered is ridonkulous.

You snooze, you lose.  Lagier Meredith vertical sold out before I logged on.  My bad, but us older guys need our sleep.

Fortunately, the Myriad and Rhys e-mails were waiting in my in-box.

The Las Madres Whole Cluster is the bomb. His best Syrah to date.

Yes, I have to make my decision on the Myriads now--last time I got shut out of a couple things I wanted.  Mike is flying high now, so that will make it even tougher.  Problem is we have no space and will have to move everything when we start (fingers crossed, still waiting to hear) construction.

What I love about Berserker Day is that it is vindication for WB.  I don't use it much, but I appreciate any forum where the owner isn't being a censorious and petty jerk like Squires became at EBob.

Just kept hearing and reading all the great things so I bit on the Liquid Farm offer, 3-pack of chardonnays plus a bonus rose and I'm going to have to face the music from the CFO, I joined their wine club :p
