BerserkerDay Vlll - Jan 27 - Anyone Else Participating?

Posted by Andrew46, Jan 9, 2017.

In case people here don't already know, this is a great event.  Lots of interesting wineries and retailers offer screaming deals.  It is a feeding frenzy.  I'll be there offering Briceland Vineyards wines but there are a lot of great deals to be had,

Tip:  If you think you might like to buy a few bottles, it is probably worth it to sign up as a subscriber  You get the list of offers a day early and can plan ahead,

Go to wineberserks forum to get logged in and see what is going on for that day,  There will be some discussions about which wines people there already know they like plus which new ones they are excited to taste,

Here comes the spammy part:  One of our wines, the 2013 Alderpoint Vineyard Humboldt Pinot Noir, was just on Prince of Pinot's All American list as well as his Value-priced All American list,  It was his highest rated CA Pinot under $36 for 2016.  Sorry,

I need to make time to come over here more and stay involved.  I know there are some cool people here with lots of insight plus a constant flow of new wine nuts!

Good to see you here, Andrew. It's been--quite--awhile.

How's business?

Hi DMCKER, yes, it has been a while.  Biz is good, thanks for asking. We have increased production a little and we are doing more tasting at the winery.

Wine are being well received.  Sometimes it is hard to keep up with bottling compliance, and all the regular stuff.

On the bright side, I just took my wife and daughter to Cuba for two weeks.  Quite a scene.

Andrew, we just got back from Cuba in mid-December.  We were on an educational tour with Collette.  What tour company did you use? I made a web page for our best photos too.

Participate every year. Too many great offers, not even remotely enough money to go around.

Andrew, no one objects that you plugged your wine--although you haven't been here for a while, you are remembered.  I actually thought of you yesterday when I read about Hopland Winery, because the name is close, family owned, etc.  I wondered how Briceland was doing.

Things here have been very quiet, as the Snooth management seems to have most things on autopilot.  The regulars have been discussing what to do if the site goes dark.  Luckily, we'll know where to find you.

Thanks for the reminder about Berserker Day.  I haven't been able to get in on the fun in years past, but maybe I will look at the list ahead of time.  If I am going to be away from the office that day, maybe I can get in with OT and share orders?  Assuming his internet access doesn't wash away in a flood.

Hope you are safe up there in Humboldt with all this rain.

Al,

We went on our own, which was a learning experience for sure.  Great trip though.  I need to put my pics up as well.  We almost crossed paths.  We arrived on the 15th.

Richard,

All is good here with the rain.  We are used to it.  I guess the smooth upper ups are taking a diverse view of how to earn.  Web sites are difficult to make cash from.

Outthere,

I look forward to seeing you there at the end of the month.

Hello Andrew

I'm looking forward to participating in my 3rd BD.  I've snatched a few gems that I'd otherwise would have never heard of. I'll be keeping an eye out for your offers.

VinOVinO,

Great, thanks in advance for your support.  One of the best things about Berserkers Day is that so many of the people who buy wines there write notes on CT.

I will mainly feature Humboldt Pinots, but also Zin & Syrah from Both Humboldt and Mendocino plus probably a white wine mixer.

See you there!

Hi Andrew!

Not doing the BD, but I was recently thinking of you. We were supposed to be up in Mendocino around the holidays but the plans got changed. I was going to contact you regarding a tasting- I saw the Prince of Pinot rating and am curious😂    I am hoping to be up before the end of the year, as I have to reschedule my vacay rental. Is your wine ever featured for tastings in the SF bay area?

NG, I think you go past Mendocino County before you get to Andrew's family's winery. They are in Humboldt, past the Benbow Inn off 101.  I'm going to try to get up there one of these days--about as far north as winemaking goes in Cali.

Ha! You're correct, Foxall. For some reason I was thinking it was closer down towards Mendocino. Maybe I'll take a trip up to Ferndale?  I haven't been there since I was a kid.  And I hear Benbow Inn is nice at Christmas... maybe next year.  I am still wanting to taste those Briceland Pinots!

Hi NapaGirl,

To be clear on our location, we are 210 miles north from SF and then 15 minutes off the freeway west on Briceland Road towards Shelter Cove, Kings Range and the Lost Coast.  This is west from Redway/Garberville area, only 20 min. from Benbow.

We did do the Family Winemakers event in SF and I am sorry that I did not come here and let people know I'd be there.  I might do another SF event.  If I do, I will remember to mention it on Snooth.

If you can't wait to taste the Humboldt Pinots, shoot me an email:  andrew@bricelandvineyards.com. If you'll write notes, I will cut you a special deal on a few bottles.

As the BerserkerDay dust settles in the West all I can say is good thing I worked all day! Otherwise I would be in the poor house. Well fed and hydrated but in the poor house. As it was I came away from today with 60 bottles of wine, some Tuna, Cheese and EVOO. I averaged less than $25/bottle so I feel like I did pretty well.

You can count on it. You still have to call me for a credit card.

Nice order, OT--could see myself ordering the same things if not more. Certainly got me salivating...
