Channel link field on the reviews RSS feed.

Posted by gr, Feb 10, 2009.

Right now, the channel link points to http://www.snooth.com/ , but I think it would make more sense if it pointed to http://www.snooth.com/my-wines/username/ , don't you?

Do you mean the root link on the RSS feed?

I don't think that's what I mean. I mean the XML entity called "channel link" (which refers, in theory, to the HTML page directly related to the feed's content, probably that presenting it at the source site) at the source RSS file. The RSS file for my reviews, for example, is http://rss.snooth.com/reviews/d/6/9... and the channel link entity just points at http://www.snooth.com/ , whereas I think that it should point at http://www.snooth.com/my-wines/gr/ .

(Mark and I discussed this on IRC, and I'm pretty sure he's clear on the point and agrees with me conceptually, but it's hardly a high priority. I was just trying to decide whether I should mangle the channel link output when constructing the current state of http://eclipsed.net/~gr/ or just leave it alone since you all would get around to adding the better specification of channel link later on, which would then make my mangled URLs into invalid ones.)
