Interesting question that occurred to me the other day as I picked up a discounted CdP.  I think the question is very much going to be the style and blend of that particular CdP.  Since the AC allows so many grapes and winemakers choose which to use and in what proportion --heck, some are even single varietal -- it would be good to know which ones you are considering and the vintages.  Then people could respond to that particular wine.  I think T-day dishes vary from place to place, other than the turkey, and there is usually so much going on that you can throw caution to the wind, to a degree.  (I wouldn't go with Cab Sauv myself, or most Zins, but other people certainly have. And I would shy away from the huge CdPs in the "international style" for something a little more austere. But that's me.)  If it makes you or someone at the table happy, why not?  On the other hand, it's chaotic enough that you don't want to put out your best bottles for the aunt who drinks wine once a year.

Thanks for the reply and the insight.  It's a 2003 Brunier la Roquette CdP.  I have not tried it but Parker gave it a 91.  I plan to try it this week to make sure it's what I think it is...

I would be more interested in how RP or anyone describes it than the points.  No notes here for that vintage, but I went over to CT and it sounds like a reasonably good choice for folks eating the dark meat.
