Import Your Tasting Notes

Posted by Mark Angelillo, Feb 12, 2009.

It's true, Snooth does get better the more wines you have.

There's a lot of value to the My Wines page ( Check out mine here ). You can see all of the wines I've had and what I had to say about them. Get a recommendation from me by picking a price range, sorting by my ratings and maybe typing a search term into the quick search.

A lot of you could give great recommendations to friends using the My Wines page, and not only that, you can keep track of what you've had, and seamlessly make a purchase from 10,000 stores worldwide based on what you've liked in the past. But if you have your data elsewhere at the moment, it's hard to switch.

We're happy to help with that. Now, you can import your tasting notes, wishlist and cellar and we'll match them up directly to the wines on Snooth.

When import from corkd will be enabled?

Michal - its built on our end, it looks like its broken on Corkd - i think their export your notes function is broken. Maybe if you send them a message they can fix it, and then we can switch the importer back on for them.

I understand. I will send them email and I will ask about it. What about import from Excel?

Michal - I'll contact you privately and we'll help you get them loaded up directly. But if you can write to Corkd as well, it will help them fix it for anyone else, thanks

Will this feature just add newly added wines from ct and avoid duplication?

Reply by Chris Carpita, Mar 11, 2009.

@Mike: Yes, we have very good deduping on our end, so as long as your reviews haven't changed at all, they will not be added twice. This depends on matching the wine (very good on our end), and matching the review, which has to be exactly the same. Very soon, I will be developing a tool to de-dupe reviews that are "mostly" the same, so let me know if anything goes wrong, and I'll take care of it! Thanks.
