New tab (command-click)

Posted by Robert Dallas Gray, Mar 5, 2009.

For me, in Safari, the forums still break command-click -- I can't view message threads in a new tab; hitting a message link while holding command just ajaxes the message thread into the current window. It's a bit of a pain for those of us that don't like doing the back-and-forth thing.

Robert, that makes perfect sense. We're going to be making some updates relatively soon that will fix this. Thanks for your patience.

Yeah, that's a problem in Firefox under Mac OS X too. Choosing "Open in new tab" from the context menu (right click or, on recent multi-touch Mac track pads, two fingers and click) should work. Producing a true middle click (if you have either Mighty Mouse variant, that's what the scroll ball does by default) might also work (the middle click on Windows with Firefox does work properly, but I no longer have a Mighty Mouse and I don't regularly use Safari).

Mark: great news! Gimme, gimme, gimme!

Yes -- soon!

By the way, we're pretty excited with the changes that will bring this, which should improve the flow of the site for the most people. It's because of all of your comments that we are able to see what is causing confusion and fix the problems.

So I wanted to make sure to thank you for what you've done to help improve Snooth.

Come to think of it maybe I'd better make this announcement a little bigger. You guys are all really helpful!
