In for another go...

When I started this thing, they were very different times around here. GdP was still a regular, EricG was kind of still around, and participated. Good memories.

Count me in! How the times have changed JD. I remember having Eric as my Secret Santa one year.

I'm in but how can I ship something without having the identity of the origin city revealed?

Reply by outthere, Oct 13, 2016.

Easy BLM, buy the wine from an online retailer such as KLWine, Benchmark Wine, BPwine, Hart Davis Hart and have them ship it.

Ah but I want to have my paws on the bottle and read the fine print. I will find a way.

I'm in also

Put me in, this has been fun, I still need to open and report on my last year's most excellent gift, maybe around the time I send this one out.

Add me to the list Santa.

BLM - or drive somewhere else and ship from there.

It was indeed very different a few years ago. But there are still some of us around. So count me in.

Besides, I was rounded up!

Yeah Greg! I meant to fit you in when reminiscing there, you were there at the table at Peking duck in NY when the plan was being hatched, and numbers drawn. Will never forget how bummed GdP was with his drawing!

I'm in!

Speaking of the gold old days, I was Secret Santa for GdP back in the day and Mrs. Lucha Vino got busted at the UPS store for shipping wine.  I gave her the wink when she asked what I was shipping - "not wine. It is olive oil." I said.  The UPS Store guy asked what she was shipping and she fell right into his trap.  When the box was opened she was busted! You can't ship wine!  Lesson learned. When you are at the FedEx or UPS store; if they don't ask, don't tell!

Lucha - call it fruit juice. You don't have to mention that it's fermented. And if they give you a hard time, take it to another location.

Yeah, gotta keep that poker face. Just think up a good semi-heavy care is my trade, so I'm in the habit of saying it's skin care (bulky cleansers, shampoo, etc.). Olive oil I've heard doesn't work so well. Either way, not like you're smuggling drugs. But the best way to do it is to set up an account through FedEx or UPS, make your own labels then just drop it off at a FedEx/UPS location. This may only be possible for businesses, not sure.

If you pick-up enough wine at your local FedEx Store you quickly become a familiar face that does not have to produce an ID to pick-up and does not get questioned when shipping...........

There are ways to ship wine, or you can use a retailer at the location of the recipient, or, as pointed out, use a web based company, etc.  And most of the time you can have the shipments made anonymous.

Oh, yeah, I'm in.  I'm recovering from bat mitzvah number two just in time to head into the holidays.  Missed y'all and thanks to the folks who contacted me via real world methods.  If you follow me on CT, you'll see I do find time to drink and even post my notes, etc.  I'll be on here more.
