Shall we have a post today?

Greg, you were right when you said it's tough to keep a forum going. Though this does seem to be an especially slow week all over the place...on the road, in business, etc. good to see people take some time out.

Max, you are new here, and are probably not fully aware of the circumstances behind my "good luck" wish to Jon Derry.

So, let me fill you in, a bit.

I am fairly well-known on the Snooth Forum as one of the people who does not particularly enjoy wine made from Pinot Noir grapes.  Jon Derry, on the other hand, is equally well-known for being passionate about red Burgundy, which is, of course, made from Pinot Noir grapes.

Jon and I live relatiively close to each other and have met a few times.  We enjoy each other's company, and have enjoyed tasteing some nice wines together and with other Snooth Forum participants.  Last week, a third Snooth regular, vin0vin0, visited our neck ot the woods and the three of us, along with our wives, met for dinner one evening.  You can read a bit more about our evening in this conversation--"A Few Snoothers @ AR Cucina."  Jon said that he was going to bring a red Burgundy to the dinner, to demonstrate to me how good Pinot Noir wine can be.  My "good luck" comment was meant to be humorous, but, also, hopeful.  I am always eager to try good wine.

At the dinner, Jon succeeded.  The Burgundy was very good.  I enjoyed it quite a bit.
