Did you ever have a bottle of red or white wine that had the wow factor ?

You know, when you take that first sip and all pleasure senses are awakened, and all you can say is WOW!

Which wine did it for you ?

I had five guitars at one point but sold two to get a divorce from the wackadoo woman I was married to, one was a Les Paul the other an Ibanez Steve Vai model, still hurts to this day ( losing the guitars that is ). But atleast I am free!

Thanks, spike, I couldn't get the "official" Hoyer site to load. Looks like a  Gibson SG to me .  I'll do more research, although I need more guitars a whole lot less than I need more wine!

Roli: Never lost a guitar to a relationship, and suspect that luck put me on the other side of that equation more than once.  I've got a good Les Paul story if you want to message me privately.  The man and the guitar.  Let's just say that my luck is astounding, although I don't own any Gibsons.  But if I was a tad less honest... Anyway, my first axe was an Ibanez, but not that cool Vai model, the most original guitar since the Strat.  (Apologies to the BC Rich fans out there.)

Roli, maybe you should apply your outstanding wine and guitar selection criteria to your selection of lady friends!

A very good friend of mine owns a guitar repair and retail shop down here and is an avid collector and trader.  If you are ever looking for something special chances are he has it or knows where to get.

Happy to give you his contact details if you are interested.

Guy I used to see play in a band called The Muskrats is now dealing in some too-sweet-for-words guitars.  His site is www.jayrosen.com -- pretty much everything is 5 figures, last I checked.

Love the Rickenbacker 345 Capri (if only).

Any Rickenbacker and a WOW! bottle of wine, stuff of dreams!

Terry O'Riley is an old mate who I played Aussie Rules Football with years ago.

One of his brothers is married to one of my wifes sisters and another of his brothers is my sisters partner!  [No it is legal just very confusing]

One of my few regrets in life is that I didn't buy this Gretsch (I think a 6120) in the mid 80s for about $440 when I had the money. Wasn't one of the highly sought after years, but it was a find sounding instrument and just cool as only a Gretsch can be.

Yeah did not want to think we were from the remote Georgia Wilderness [or Tasmania the Aussie equivalent]

You should try and explain it to new partners of our children!!!!

OK.. back to the WoW wine guys! LOL!

My tastes change over the year, and my wow wines change as well....  I have had several WOWS..

My good ole 2008 sonoma coast Lioco Pinot noir

Robert Sinskey 2000 reserve cab

Robert sinskey vandal vineyard cab franc

But my biggest wow was a 2007 Jonas Cellars red wine, which is primarily Cab Franc, with a touch of syrah.

Thank you napagirl, I'm gonna keep these wimes in mind

SH, your previous comment reminded me of this comedian which said he went to visit a friend in the south, and upon his arrival knocks on his friends door, the door flies open, out steps his friend, gives him a big hug then say's "I'd like you to meet my wife and sister," but there was only one girl standing by him.

Mine is Layer Cake Malbec. Immediately after the first sip it lights up my life, rings my bells, touches and ignites all of the fuses, bangs my drums and flutters my eyelids. Is that enough? You get the idea. I could be a spokesman for Mendoza, Argentina and as a matter of fact, my next trip after Europe this fall maybe there and I probably will drink enough to extend my belt notch 2 spaces.

Lefty The Great Pacific Northwest

Lefty and Layer Cake Malbec strike again

James it must be said that many other Snoothers have a diametrically opposite view on LCM to you.

Must try and find a bottle in this part of Australia and see where I sit on Lefty's epiphany wine!!
