Alma Negra Malbec Sparkling Rosé 2010

Winemaker's Notes:

Dark berryfruit, dried chrries and hints of chocolate on the nose lead to flavors of ripe berries, black cherry, cocoa and a tinge of smoke in this dense and well- balanced wine. The finish lingers with dark ripe fruit, balanced acidity and a smooth mouthfeel. This wine pairs well with slow-cooked beef, grilled meats and sausage.

Rich plum flavor, a typical malbec style wine. While I liked this wine I thought it was a little over priced compared to similar Argentinian malbecs. It's appeal is the mysterious label.

"Dark, dark, we all go into the dark..." Black cherry/berry/cassis notes, along with hints of dark chocolate & sweet spice. A dark, brooding finish lasts & lasts. 94pts.

I loved this wine. Dark, very full-bodied. Goes well with a cold night in front of the fireplace and a good thriller.

Beautiful, full-bodies, very delicious wine that was so, so smooth to drink. It made such a lasting impression that I am currently looking for a vendor to purchase a case of it on-line.

Welcome to the dark side. This wine is as flavorful as it is dark, with layers of berry, cassis, spice, and a slight dark cocoa finish. Did I mention it was dark? Like a thunderstorm - plenty to appreciate.

Really like this wine. Full bodied, but not too dry and not too sweet. Reminds me of Orin Swift "the Prisoner".

Very pale salmon skin-orange color. Faintly yeasty aromas of candied strawberry, citrus peel and biscuit. Quite dry, fresh and light on its feet; this is really shockingly subtle for a sparkling wine from Argentina.

Alma Negra means black soul in English. While the label encourages one to drink the whole bottle, flavors of raspberry and liquorice are noticeable even from the top.
