On the rich side with an almost viscous texture, this has benefitted from 2 years in the cellar. The pear and bitter orange pith fruit is well balanced and framed by gentle suggestions of mineral and almond milk. This is a big wine that doesn’t lack for alcohol and may be a bit too soft for some palates but it does offer an interesting take on the style and would be a great match for a creamy, rich chicken and mushroom soup. 86pts

Um yeah....the aroma is quite clearly cannibus sativa...that´s a first for wine! Really hard to get past that smell but there is also a touch of cut grass in there as well. Over time, fresh kiwiw and pineapple flavors come through. Really bright, fresh squeezed lemon and custard flavors refresh the palate and you almost feel surrounded by the golden rays of sunshine that hit the grapes when they were harvested. Really refreshing wine for a hot day. Pair with a fresh summer salad of greens and a pear vinagrette.

I am not an expert, but I know what I like. I always have my eye out for Moscato D'Asti, as it is my favorite. I like sweet wines. I found this at a very good price ($7.49 on Sale, regularly $14.99) at Walgreen's in Wake Forest, NC. On opening it, I thought I might not like it, as the fragrance wafting up as I opened it was not appetizing. The first glass smelled rather strange, but as it sat, it lost the strong scent. I am glad I stuck with it. It is pretty special- lovely tart that plays against the sweet grape, apple, pear, apricots, and a faint floral something. It is what I think is a medium body, which i like. It is very smooth, easy to drink and mellows a tad as it goes from chilled to just cool. I think it gets richer and more complex in flavors as it starts to warm up from just chilled to just cool. Not as bubbly as some others, but it does not distract from this wine in the least. I had some of this wine with a dinner of chicken in a very light terriaki/honey glaze; green beans tossed in a good olive oil, a drop or two of sesame oil and a light sprinkle of lemon-pepper, and a nice chewy rustic white loaf of bread with butter/olive oil/garlic/feta sprinkled on cut bread and warmed- I think it was a good pairing. I tried some with Goat cheese with cranberry and cinnamon- fantastic! This Moscato is complex enough and lingers long enough to hold it's own and play against the flavors of foods. Mine had 2012 production date.

Gattinara 2004 - 89 Points, Wine Enthusiast/ Here's a light and tonic expression of Nebbiolo (in a specially designed curvy bottle) with pretty aromas of wild berries, moist earth and forest floor. The color is a light and lumninous ruby and the mouthfeel is equally streamlined and fresh. Firm tannins and intense flavors of smoke and cedar build momentum on the palate.

Gattinara 2004 - 89 Points, International Wine Cellar/ Medium red with an amber rim. Aromas of red cherry, violet and marzipan. Intensely flavored but light on its feet, with classic nebbiolo energy and flavors of red fruits and tar on the fresh, smooth palate.

Made by one of the biggest wine companies in Italy that had its origins in 1385, this wine stands up to its name as “Super-Tuscan”. It’s an intense ruby red with aromas of red berries and oak. A very well-balanced flavor with cassis, cherry, and a hint of chocolate, which combine for a silky, rich finish.
