The parcels are vinified separately, blended and aged for a few months in French oak barrels and barriques. After bottling, the wine rests for a few months before release. When you think of pairing Chianti with food, most people think of pasta with a red sauce but there is so much more that you can pair with Chianti. It’s a great compliment to strong tasting poultry dishes, spiced lamb, or even beef (as long as its not overly fatty). If you are looking for a good wine with pizza, Chianti is your choice.
