Bava Barbera d'Asti Libera 2007

Winemaker's Notes:

Bava, founded in 1911, is one of the most innovative wineries in Italy today - run by the three Bava brothers, Roberto, Giulio and Paulo. Cocconato, where the Bavas live, is a large village above Asti and the Po plains. Modern, surprising and fashionable, Libera is above all a good Barbera wine, made from the youngest vines at the PianoAlto estate in Agliano. All the wines produced by this estate are of prominent standing. They reflect best the qualities of the most classic Barbera-growing area, since the village is part of the NIZZA subzone. Libera is a Barbera that accompanies the most diverse foods. Thanks to its extraordinary versatility, it has been received warmly by international wine buyers. It is deep red with ruby hues, a fragrant nose and is fruity, fresh, and surprisingly supple to the palate. Drink it with pastas, red meats or fine cheeses.
