Blackwood Lane the Reference 2006

Member Review by zufrieden:

Among the first vintages of this garagiste-style wine from Langley, BC (grapes sourced from the southern Okanagan Valley) and made by the more-than-interesting hand of one Charles Herrold, this wine is world-class, certainly: the nose is distinctive with mostly ripe cherry, vanilla and cake spice (flan). Entry is very special for a BC wine: there is good, fresh acidity that at once cleanses and excites the palate and introduces clean, Merlot-Cabernet delight on the finish. Chocolate notes abound, with elegant integration of the oak treatment. A triumph. 94.
