Cercius Michel Gassier Cotes-du-Rhone Vieilles Vignes 2013

Winemaker's Notes:

91 points Robert Parker: The 2013 Cotes du Rhone Cercius Vieilles Vignes from the Plateau de Domazan, is a 7,000-case blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah aged six months in concrete. Cercius is the Latin name for the legendary north/south whipping winds called the Mistral that dominate the southern Rhone Valley for one hundred or so days a year. The deep ruby/purple-colored 2013 Cercius boasts a stunning nose of camphor, incense, blackberries, cassis, kirsch and licorice. This full-bodied, opulent, saturated, fruit-dominated red wine is super-pure, incredibly well-balanced, full and stunning. Drink it over the next 2-3 years. Drink: 2014-2017. (Jun 2014)

Our land – the beginning and the end A family of winemakers for four generations now, we are intimately connected to our land. By striving to live in harmony with nature we achieve a personal equilibrium and give meaning to our lives. The Mediterranean – our culture The Mediterranean is the cradle of our family. We have been nurtured by its strong and unique cultures, passionate and at times unbridled, yet always turned towards humanity. The family rock “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.” We are but a link in a chain, receiving and then transmitting, following the path of generations past. Solidarity, trust, commitment, and love nurture the human spirit to tackle even the most ambitious projects. Read less
