From its 35 hectares of vines, averaging 35 years old, the 2001 vintage is a deep ruby red colour with a slight bricking on the rim. It has a bouquet of blackberry, blackcurrant, with hints of vanilla and cedar that further develop in the mouth. Full and round with a good balance between fruit an acidity, this wine is "ready to drink" but can still be retained for 2-4 more years. Grahame Martin – Wine & Food – October 2006 Medium deep. Sweet, fruity, classic black fruit aromas. Very good. Pencil lead. Classic Bordeaux – good fruit, dry, firm tennins, long, persistent. Outstanding, elegant. 2-5 years. Decanter World Wine Awards – November 2004
