Chateau de Chamilly Aligote 2015

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought this bottle of wine for £12 from the website www.houseoftownend.com.Bourgogne Aligote is an appellation created in 1937 for white wines made of the aligote grape from anywhere in the Burgundy region. The aligote grape was traditionally mixed with a blackcurrant liquer to make a drink called kir and is also a grape widely grown in eastern Europe.Chateau de Chamilly is a small family concern on the Cotes Chalonaise in southern Burgundy.I started my bottle last night with my supper of baked fish. It is a dry wine. There is some melon and peach style fruit with a hint of citrus but I have had far fruitier white wines than this.In short this is a little bland but it went well with the fish.
