Chateau de Suduiraut Sauternes Halves

External Review by Great Wines Direct:

Castelnau de Suduiraut is the second wine of the prestigious Chateau de Suduiraut in Sauternes. The estate covers 90ha with a low yield of 17hl/ha and is the next vineyard to the north of Yquem. Chateau Suduiraut is a beautiful property situated in the commune of Preignac with magnificent gardens designed by Le Notre who was also responsible for those at Versailles. Sauternes is an appellation which applies to 5 villages to the South of the Ciron. The Ciron is a tributary of the Garonne and is responsible for the misty autumn conditions that give rise to noble rot, making it possifrenble to make deliciously sweet wines from the concentrated sweet juice of the dehydrated grapes. Grapes: 90% Semillion, 10% Sauvignon Blanc. Region: France / Bordeaux / Sauternes AOC Notes: An elegantly rich first class Sauterne showinr orange peel and mineral notes on the nose. The palate is full with rich flavours of honey, spice, almonds and crystallised fruits with a long, lingering finish.A beautifully balanced dessert white wine suitable for long ageing. Serve: Chilled with Foie Gras and blue cheese. ABV: 12%
