Chimney Rock Winery Elevage Blanc Stags Leap District 2004

Winemaker's Notes:

Chimney Rock New Pages Describing another release of the Chimney Rock Elevage as "elegant" is like describing the latest line-up for the Yankees as "talented." Of course it's true, but it's not really news. Still every time a new vintage emerges, the amazing richness, sensual mouthfeel and impeccable balance come as a revelation of what great and careful winemaking can achieve. Dark red with a subversive purple hue This wine has loads of huckleberry, clove, dark chocolate and mocha. This extroverted wine has a generous mid-palate with tannins of equal grace. 2004 has gifted us with powerful velvet and an extraordinary finish. Vintage: 2004 Type: Elevage Stags Leap DistrictGrape Variety Used: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot Alcohol Level: 14.2% Dates Grapes Picked: September-October, 2004 Fermentation: Each variety was fermented separately in stainless tanks with variable contact time ranging from 6-25 days. loved it, tasted and bought it at the Chimney Rock winery... notes of berries and a little bacon. Drank on a special occasion last year and really enjoyed.
