Denis Mortet Marsannay les Longeroies 2011

Member Review by duncan 906:

I bought two bottles of this wine from the website www.cellartrade for £45.Marsannay is a Burgundy appellation created in 1987 for red, rose and white wines [although 2/3rds are red] from 3 communes at the northern end of the Cotes de Nuits.just south of Dijon. There are no Grand or Premier Cru sites. My bottles are 100% pinot noir and were agerd in oak barrels. I started the first bottle last night with my steak supper. It is very pale in colour, almost like a rose. There is plenty of a raspberry, redcurrant and cranberry style fruit. The tannins are soft but it is beautifully structured and yet subtle and delicate. In short, this is an exquisite Burgundy
