Domaine Camp Galhan 'Les Perassieres' Duche d'Uzes 2015

I bought this bottle of wine from a shop in Wiltshire [www.yapp.co.uk] for £13.Duche d'Uzes,a name that refers to the olod Dukes of Uzes, was promoted from a Vin de Pays to full appellation status in 2012. The appellation is for red, rose and white wines made of Rhone valley blends from 78 communes around the small medieval town of Uzes which is located about 12 miles west of Avignon.Domaine Camp Galhan is a small family concern in this area and this cuvee consists of 60% grenache and 40% syrah..I started my bottle last night with my supper of baked chicken breast. It is a full bodied and well structured wine with a dark colour. There is plenty of a blackcurrant, bramble and blueberry style fruit with some smoke or spice on the finish. The tannins are smooth and soft but the overiding impresion is how dry this wine is.It went well with the baked chicken
