Domaine la Cadette 'Vezelay' Bourgogne la Chatelaine 2018

Member Review by thewinegal:

pale yellow straw color Nose – smells youthful. it's crisp, clean, grapefruit, red freen apples, meyer lemon; honey; allspice & cinammon; very lite floral notes; no green herbs but there is green leaves; sulphur. lite dry minerality; no presence of wood or oak. after I let it sit for a bit, smells of yeast, toast bread --> BRET therefore sur lie aging. Taste – tart; grapefruit, lemon, tangerine; floral is stronger on the palate; no taste of honey or oak or wood on the palate. Med+ acid, med finish, med+ complexity

Richly aromatic. Saline, chalky and toasty aspects. Crisp fruit and very nice acidity. Very versatile food wine. - Tasted at Marché Bacchus 9/11/10

Tasting on December 12, 2010, I found no crispness nor toasty characteristics of the kind VegasOenophile experienced three months ago. Perhaps it was the particular bottle, but the wine was dry but not pleasantly acidic, and crispness has given way to softness. A nice bottle for the price, nevertheless. I'll probably buy more. (I love the label; nice work! whoever the designer was.)

An unoaked, single-vineyard Burgundy Chardonnay that's full of floral aromas, chalk minerals and yellow, mirabelle plums. Very forward and non-pretentious and just the kind of everyday Burgundy that we're thrilled to drink.
