Domaine Trouvere Syrah 2008
Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:
This is very herbal at first, a regular cupboard of dried herbs, softly sweet and aromatic with accents of cracked pepper, cocoa, black cherry, plum and date. Rich and soft in the mouth with lovely freshness to the flavors, all wild berry, wood spiced and a touch earthy/herbal, but this lacks focus. The acidity is rather soft and the tannins absent on the palate, though wood tannins join lightly jammy black cherry fruit on the backend and on to the modest, black fruited and spiced finish. 86pts
