Don Miguel Gascon Malbec 2008

Member Review by Team Canada:

I had this at the Bonefish Grill. They always serve the reds at 65 degrees. This was one of the best values I've had in wine. I bought a case right after dinner. It has a clean bouquet and nice finish. Best I've had under $12.

Deep purple color, strong fruit flavors, rich tasting to the palate with a nice strong finish. A great buy for pricing around $11.00

The color is a deep purple with intense aromas of blackberry and blueberry, with hints of pepper and mocha. It is a well-balanced, full-bodied wine with sweet tannins. There is a smooth mouth-feel and nice elegant finish. I purchased for $8.99.

Dark color, very well balanced. More powerful than I expected it to be. Intense fruit flavor and a nice clean finish. Excellent value for the price.

Good dry wine with earthy notes. Slightly sour aftertaste.

Great "under-valued" wine! The 2007 vintage is even better!

This wine is made by blending Malbec from the three best growing areas in the Mendoza provence. In these areas, the grapes develop sweet tannins, intense fruit and good acidity/sugar balance, combining the characteristics of each area. Red purple color. Intense black fruits and red plum aromas. Smooth and concentrated tannins in the mouth.
