Forest Glen Merlot Premier 2005
External Review by Premier Wine & Spirits:
The deep ruby-colored 1996 Merlot tastes like a Merlot should. Offering big, sweet, cherry, chocolate and herbaceous aromas, it is soft, ripe, and pleasant, with a chunky, straightforward chacacter, good fruit and glycerin, and a velvety finish. It should drink well for another year.
Add winemaker's notesForest Glen wines have been produced in Geyserville in Sonoma County, California since 1990. Their wines are produced to be consumed young, without the need for further bottle aging. According to the Noble Estates website, the wines are “100% barrel aged.” We’re not sure what that means either, but consumers have remarked on the toasty, smooth flavors.

Decent, with ripe flavors of cherries and spice, dry tannins and good acidity.

This is a nice, easy-drinking wine. It's ripe and well-made, from the berry-infused aromas to the soft, round, fruity flavors. Dry, and even sophisticated, you can serve this with fine dinners and save a few bucks.

A Beaujolais-style of Merlot, this is strawberry red in flavor, gentle and lasting. A light touch of wood builds on this wines warmth, ready for ribs.
