Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino 2014

Editorial Review by Gregory Dal Piaz:

This is very oaky on the nose, with raw wood accenting the black cherry fruit. Additional time in the glass brings out more toasty notes and black, almost peppery spice. Dense and fruity on the palate with some bitterness on the short finish. This is a sexy wine with lots of make up over easy red fruit. Is a bit chunky today. The bitterness of the tannins becomes more apparent with air. 87pts

The vines, which extend over ten hectares, are primarily located at Cottimelli at altitudes varying from 380 to 450 meters above sea level. Tuscany, ItalyWine & Spirits 93 points - Fulignis 2011 shows good freshness for the warm vintage, with delicate floral scents that lead into flavors of red cherry and pomegranate, all of it laced together by fine-grained tannins. It maintains a cool red-fruit character as notes of wild herbs and raspberry seed emerge, leading to an energetic and lifted finish..April/2017Wine Advocate 93 points - Fulignis 2011 Brunello di Montalcino is a delightful wine that excels both in terms of its generosity and its approachability. Its easy to drink the whole bottle, glass after glass. The warmer vintage has shaped soft and rich fruit flavors that are enduring and enticing. Spice, leather and tangy tobacco fill in the rear adding dimension and aromatic substance. The mouthfeel shows great textural richness and a sudden spot of bright acidity. This is an honest, upfront and utterly enjoyable Brunello..Monica Larner, March/2016

Black cherry and black tea aromas follow through to a full body, with velvety tannins and a succulent finish. Wonderful combination of bright acidity and savory fruit. Will age wonderfully. Here's a more vinous and youthful expression of Sangiovese Grosso in which the grape's trademark acidity and fruity brightness shine through. Cherry, white almond, dried raspberry and rum cake. It presents a soft, chewy feel in the mouth although the... Wine Enthusiast. A Sangiovese Grosso wine from Tuscany in Italy. 2007 Fuligni Brunello di Montalcino 1500ml
