Hogue Cellars Merlot Washington 2004

Member Review by TwoMartinis:

Deep purple color with scent of dark berries and some spice. This was a medium bodied wine with a medium level of tannins and acid. I was impressed with the overall darkfruit flavor with a little hint of leather on the finish. For the price, it is a good wine to keep around to enjoy whenever.

A bit on the lighter side for a Cabernet-based wine, this wine is very soft with aromas of herbs, berries and oak and a surprisingly long fruity finish. A very good red for cocktail parties, poultry or lighter meats.
