Hush Heath Manor Pinot Noir 2015

Member Review by duncan 906:

This bottle of wine was part of a lot I bought on the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/134184. It is from the county of Kent in southern England,a part of the world with a history of viticulture going back to the Romans but which has seen something of a revival in recent decades with global warming. My bottle is a red pinot noir from the Hush Heath Estate and the word 'manor' on the label is a reference to the manor house at the heart of the estate. I started the bottle last night with my supper of chicken in mushroom sauce. The wine was a pale colour and light in style. There was plenty of a raspberry, redcurrant and cranberry style fruit but not a great deal in the way of structure or tannins. However it went well with the chicken

Hush Heath Estate:
The 400 acre estate's history has been traced back to 1503 and it was bought by entrepreneur Richard Balfour-Lynn in the 1980's who planted the first vines in 2002.There are now 130 acres under vine and there is also an oak woodland and a cider orchard.A range of red, rose, white and sparkling wines are produced as well as a range of ciders and beers. There is also a restaurant and visitor centre
