Jacob's Creek Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon Limestone Coast 2016

This pours a deep rusty red color, with a clear brown ring around the inside of the glass...suspended air bubbles sit right underneath the liquid top. It also seems to have an oily texture when swirled. The aromas are of deeply ripened berries, subdued alcoholic tang, spearmint leaf, and I dare say a slightly soapy oaked character....interesting to say the least. The flavors quickly put to rest the unorthodox smells this gave off, with dark berry, vanilla oak floral petals, and some dry mineral tones dominating the palate. The mouthfeel is smooth, yet tannic on the finish.....highly drinkable and overall this brings a deeper depth to this variety than a lot of other Cabs I've enjoyed. Recommended!
