Joseph Faiveley Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

A beautiful ruby colour. This wine has pleasant, fresh, red-fruit aromas on the nose, which we find again on the palate. It has a rich and very ripe substance, with fine and round tannins. This is a very well-structured and pleasing wine. Serve with pork, grilled red meats and creamy cheeses.

Well balanced, being able to continue to drink since no strong taste, on and on, feeling longest night in Sep.

Very light in color. Bright raspberry and plum aromas. Light body. Strong tannins for Pinot Noir.

I bought this bottle of wine from the website www.bidforwine.co.uk/auctions/show/114148.It is from the large Burgundy house of Faiveley.I started it at the weekend with my steak supper. It is fairly full-bodied for a Burgundy and there is plenty of red fruit with soft but well structured tannins. It is not particularly subtle or delicate but it went well with the steak.I would say this is a reasonable village level wine

A light, fresh, and delicate Pinot Noir that is abounding with bright, sour cherry and other red, pit fruit. The wine speaks clearly of its vintage and has a strong hint of tannin despite its pale color.
