Le Macioche Brunello di Montalcino 2013

External Review:

The estates medium-ruby colored 2001 Brunello di Montalcino shows an expressive nose along with vibrant layers of sweet fruit on a medium-bodied, firmly structured frame with excellent length, fine, elegant tannins and a lively note of minerality that provides freshness on the finish. It should be at its best in a few years and drink well to age 15-20. A beautiful, finely nuanced, understated Brunello. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2019.

Powerful and persistent on the palate, the natural grape tannins combine very well with the sweeter wood tannins. Full-bodied and well-structured, the wine has a strong, sapid finish. It pairs excellently with structured red meat dishes and aged cheeses.

Leathery and tight with some raisin and spice character. Medium body, medium tannins and a simple finish. Drink now. 1,165 cases made.
