Lieb Cellars Pinot Blanc Reserve 2015

Editorial Review by Snooth Editorial:

Caramel apple aromas with crushed rose petal and honeysuckle. Palate is fresh with Meyer lemon, green apple, almonds and creme brulee. There's a slight hint of toast but it's not overpowering.

Great acidity and a touch of sweetness make this Long Island wine a nice choice with a variety of foods.

Nose leads me to expect light to medium body, citrus with a bit of sweetness. It's tingly on the palate and effervescent. 86/100

I love the hard work of small wine making communities, but this is not good wine. No balance, too sweet, over priced. Really just not a good wine...Sorry, however, i will support LI wines, but this is a bad wine.

Very mineral and oily. Good acidity, but I felt the wine was rather 'straw like' - maybe a bad bottle, but it tasted a bit flat / old. Mineral finish and a light, flinty nose.

This wine artfully reflects the intense ripeness of the vintage. Pale yellow with a green tinge, this wine is much more aromatic than previous vintages with clean, focused citrus and wet stone. Mouth-filling and "big" this could be easily mistaken for an Alsatian wine. Pears, citrus and hints of tropical fruit mingle on the palate with minerals and chalk. The long, elegant finish offers a salty tingle of acidity.I've said it before, but I'll say it again: this is a new benchmark in North Fork pinot blanc, and I'd put it up against any Alsatian pinot blanc in the same price range.

The nose is lime, honeydew melon and wet stones and the medium-bodied palate has similar flavors with crisp pear and melon giving way to a tangy lime-mineral finish.Great wine.

A true Alsacian style, with aromas of honey, pear, and rose petal. Big and creamy with great balance.

Our Signature Wine is produced from some of the oldest vines on the North Fork circa 1982. The 2008 vintage is fermented entirely in stainless steel tanks to display true varietal character featuring notes of apple pear and rose petals. As the wine opens honey and confectionary notes begin to emerge. The palate remains crisp and vibrant with great balance and a long finish of fruit flora and minerals. This mouth-watering wine is a perfect match for sushi oysters and other fresh local seafood. Winemaker's notes

Located on the North Fork of Long Island, Lieb Cellars is a family-run winery making limited-production wine. This Pinot Blanc is their signature bottling. Made with only first-press or free-run juice and fermented in stainless steel, this white wine displays notes of white peaches, tangerine, and pear around a mineral core. Excellent with shellfish, this is a great alternative to Chardonnay.
