Massaya Cabernet-Syrah Blend Gold Reserve 2005

Winemaker's Notes:

Cabernet Sauvignon, (50%), Syrah and Mourvèdre are seldom
bed-fellows...all thick-skinned and powerful grapes ..together,
unsurprisingly, they provide a powerful and tannic vin de garde. This is no
exception; the wood and fruit tannins are still evidenced but there is a real
quality of dark fruit lying beneath and a savoury edge which promises a
fascinating evolution.
(Simon Field MW, BBR Buyer)

Deep look most likely from syrah, powerful nose nicely balanced of spicies, fruits, bell pepper. the pallet reflects the nose with tiny tannins that develop gradually to reach there climax well after releasing the wines from the mouth. typical full bodied wine of the Levant with pepper, cedar hints.

In line with the Massaya Gold Reserve, dark cherry color, the nose is little bit smokey with hints of bell pepper reminding of the Cab S, the texture is tannic but above all very velvety and the finish is very smooth despite the full bodied character. Among the most elegant from the Lebanon.
